First 2017 Semifinalists Are Set in FMX, BMX, Skate

The second- and third-place finishers from the 2016 Nitro World Games FMX, BMX Best Tricks, BMX Triple Hit, and Skate Best Tricks events have been invited straight to the 2017 semifinals, setting up a series of epic rematches this summer in Salt Lake City. The first-place finishers in the FMX, BMX, and Skate events were previously invited directly to the 2017 finals. The 2017 Nitro World Games will take place at Rice-Eccles Stadium on June 24, and tickets are already on sale. The competition will be broadcast live on NBC.
The first 2017 semifinalists are: in FMX, Josh Sheehan and Taka Higashino; in BMX Best Tricks, Kurtis Downs and Gavin Godfrey; in BMX Triple Hit, Logan Martin and Alex Coleborn; and in Skate Best Tricks, Clay Kreiner and Trey Wood. Check out their highlights from last year:

The podium finishers from the inaugural Nitro World Games took home trophies after beating a stacked field of the best athletes in the world, and the 2017 competition is shaping up to be even more intense. Every athlete who makes the finals has a shot to take the title, but these trophy-winners got close enough to taste it and will be pushing the envelope to stand at the top of the podium in 2017.
