The Date Is Set for Nitro World Games 2017

The 2017 Nitro World Games will go off on June 24 at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City, with tickets to the second-annual revolutionary action sports competition on sale now. The Games are again partnering with NBC to broadcast the event live across the country. Get your tickets while they last.

Last July, the first Nitro World Games changed the landscape of action sports with dozens of competition firsts as well as many huge broken records. The FMX Best Trick event saw all three winners sticking World First tricks, including Gregg Duffy's podium-topping, FMX moment-of-the-year double frontflip. And scooter-pro-turned-BMX-phenom Ryan Williams shocked the crowds and the judges during the BMX Best Tricks event landing several tricks never attempted in competition, including a 1080 frontflip and his signature nothing front bike flip. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. All of this was possible because the Nitro World Games is specifically designed with progression in mind. Watch the video highlights from last year right here.

The brainchild of action sports legend Travis Pastrana and Nitro Circus Creative Director and CEO Mike Porra, the event is a culmination of decades of experience and years of research, planning, testing, and polishing. The event condenses more action into one night than you'll see all year, with competitions in FMX, BMX, skate, inline, and scooter all going down within one massive show that sees seven champions crowned during its three-hour run.
The formats push progression, with an emphasis on big tricks. To win at the Games, athletes truly must try something no one has ever done in competition. To that end, the ramps are bigger than ever, specially designed and tested by some of the best, most experienced ramp technicians and riders in the world and overseen by Pastrana and Porra. Open qualifying for most of the events means that anyone in the world has a shot at competing on the biggest stage in action sports.

It will all be happening June 24 at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City, which in itself is the perfect setting for the biggest action sports competition of the year. Salt Lake, in addition to being the birthplace of Nitro Circus, is a city where you can ride your dirtbike in the morning, kayak in the afternoon, and then in the evening catch a great live band after an amazing dinner. It's the perfect city for your next action sports getaway, and you might as well plan it so you're there during the Nitro World Games this summer.
Look for more announcements in the coming weeks as more details are finalized, and be sure to head to on Dec. 9 to get your tickets while they last.
