Richard Zelinka Repeats as King of Bowl at ScootFest

By Jake Hershey | Nov. 11, 2018

Day 2 of ScootFest absolutely did not disappoint. It started with my favorite event of the weekend: King of Bowl. Defending champion and last year’s King of Kings Richard Zelinka had some serious competition, but talking to him beforehand I could tell his confidence was high. Watch the full competition right here, and read on for more details and highlights:

A few others that were destroying the bowl today were Cody Flom, Ryan Williams, and Estonian wonder Roomet Saalik. Saalik had some crazy tricks on the Nitro World Games wallride, including a barspin fakie feeble grind to frontside 270 off. That wall stood at least 7 feet over the bowl, so to throw a 270 in his opposite direction is unbelievable.

But in the end, speed, style, and the gnarly factor won it for Zelinka. For the second year in a row, this man proved to be the King of Bowl. Richard also took to the wall, sending a barspin backside lipslide to tailwhip back into the bowl. What a display of insanity! After finishing second in Street and first in Bowl, his odds of another King of Kings crown increased exponentially. Check out highlights from Zelinka’s Bowl performance right here:
