NITRO WORLD GAMES 2016

OFFICIAL RECAP

The Nitro World Games was built on the idea that action sports competition should be about skill, progression, and entertainment in equal measure, and the inaugural event delivered on all counts. In July 2016, top athletes in FMX, BMX, skate, scooter, and inline brought their A-game to Salt Lake City, Utah, and threw down, looking to etch their names in the history books at the inaugural Nitro World Games.

Standout moments include Ryan Williams, a rider known for his scooter skills, competing in his first-ever BMX competition and winning it all. Kurtis Downs secured second in that event with a World First backflip quad tailwhip. And to cap off the night, Gregg Duffy landed the World First FMX double frontflip. When the dust settled, dozens of firsts went down in a three-hour span, and a new contender for the definitive global action sports competition was born.
